We will also separately recognize first-time competitors. A first-time competitor is a person who has never previously participated in any sled dog competition in Estonia or abroad.

Competitors who start in multiple classes are asked to take into account that there may not be enough time for proper rest before their next start.

DOG CLASSES

1. OPEN:
All dogs that are not Nordic breed dogs.

2. RNB (registered nordic breeds):
RNB1:
Siberian Huskies with FCI/EKL registered breed certificate.
RNB2: Alaskan Malamutes, Greenland Dogs, Yakut Laikas and Samoyeds with FCI/EKL registered breed certificate.

For Nordic sled dogs, separate classifications are held by class under the following conditions:

  • At least 5 competitors with Nordic sled dogs have registered for the competition class. In this case, a separate classification will be held for Nordic sled dogs (except in dog cross).
  • In scooter hauling (DS1, DS2), Nordic sled dogs are divided into two separate categories, if at least 5 implements have registered in one category:
    RNB1 (Siberian huskies)
RNB2 (Alaskan malamutes, Greenland dogs, Samoyed dogs, Yakut laikas)

REQUIREMENTS FOR DOGS

All competing dogs must be healthy, vaccinated according to age (against rabies, recommended also leptospirosis and complex vaccine) and microchipped. Dogs participating in bicycle and scooter transport must be at least 18 months old on the day of the competition. In children’s dog cross classes (DCK1, DCK2, DCK3) at least 12 months old.

A Nordic breed dog must be registered with the FCI / Estonian Kennel Club with a breed certificate (except Yakut Laika sled dogs). If the dog does not have a registered breed certificate, it will compete in the open class dog category. A dog that has competed in one main class may also compete once in the dog cross class and once in the children’s dog cross class. Dogs cannot be changed during the competition. Bring your dog’s vet passport with you, because there will be a veterinary inspection on site. Starting materials will not be issued without a vet passport.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EQUIPMENT

In extreme cases, a competitor may lend their sports equipment to a maximum of one competitor, provided that they have informed the competition organiser about this in the registration form and that they do not make two starts with the same sports equipment.
